If Childbirth was really that painful, explain to me why we never see only 1 child families?

There is actually a hormone that women have that makes them forget or gloss over the pain. A lot of women also just don't use birth control and hope for the best. Besides, a lot of women think it's worth it because they get this precious baby at the end.
