Since black people generally aren't very intelligent, does this explain why many black people are religious?

A contentious issue, I know, but please don't react emotionally; objectivity is requested, ok? Do you think it has to do with intelligence or is it more a case of their vulnerability to superstitious nonsense. Are black people more likely to take superstitious nonsense seriously than white people? I think they are, but I'm not sure if it's in the DNA or their culture. What do you think?
